Synopsis:

"An Unexpected Coddiwomple: unfolds as Heavy Datea B-17 Flying Fortress, is forced to ditch in the North Sea in May 1945. Seven decades later, in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the radio operator/gunner on board, Loretto Thompson, stumbles upon a hidden trove of 522 letters penned by her later father during his wartime service. This revelation opens a surprising door to the past and a way to acquaint herself with the man she never really knew. Overwhelmed by the sheer volume, she offers to read them to her mother, only to discover they are a chaotic mess, void of organization. Determined, Loretto undertakes the colossal task of sorting the letters chronologically. As she begins to delve into her father's wartime experiences, a captivating journey unfolds. Unbeknownst to her, the WWII pilot whose crew survived the ditching, is still alive in his 90s. Loretto's exploration into her father's life before his premature death in 1965 unexpectedly converges with the living history of his B-17 pilot, weaving a poignant narrative of love, sacrifice, and unexpected connections.
